Space Shuttle Atlantis rolls to final home

The Space Shuttle Atlantis rolled slowly to its final destination at Kennedy Space Center.  Shuttle is rolled on the roads at Kennedy to the visitors center on November 2, 2012. The Shuttle will displayed centerpiece of a $100 million exhibit scheduled to open in July 2013.

The shuttle traveled over 125 million miles during it’s lifetime and flew on 33 missions. Atlantis is the fourth and final orbiter to be delivered to its display home since the shuttle program ended and NASA awarded the vehicles to museums last year.
