M2-class flare causes R1 radio blackouts

Sunspot AR 1513 hit Earth’s atmosphere with a pulse of X-rays and extreme ultraviolet radiation. The flare also has a coronal hole associated with it. This makes for an interesting site as you can see in the video below.

NOAA predicts a thirty percent chance of M class flares in the next 24 hours.
